Calling all people of faith in Pierce County – The Suburban Times
Announcement of Associated Ministries.
Learn more about racial healing for people of faith during the call to worship with Reverend Gregory Drumwright on MAY 22, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of Peace in Tacoma, 2106 S. Cushman Ave., 98405. No charge to attend.
Racism permeates every aspect of our society. Some say the churches have been slow to actively respond to this cancer. Reverend Gregory Drumwright comes to Tacoma to call on believers to step in to speak to white Christians and urge them to work to overcome ingrained racism in American society.
Reverend Drumwright, a grassroots activist from North Carolina, has been described as one of America’s most promising emerging public theologians and social justice organizers of the decade. He is an ordained religious leader who has spoken to over 300,000 people worldwide. He has also performed sacred music around the world and has been a guest at the White House three times and has appeared as a musical artist at the Apollo Theater and on network television shows.
This event is an ecumenical gathering of challenge, healing and commitment sponsored by Peace Works United, Peace Lutheran Church, Tacoma Ministerial Alliance, Associated Ministries, PLU Campus Ministry and Southwestern Washington Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
